Under the hood is Cadillac s hand-assembled supercharged 4.4-liter Northstar V8, producing an impressive 469 horsepower and 439 lb-ft of torque. The engine features dual overhead cams, four valves per cylinder and variable valve timing, with 90% of its peak torque available from approximately 2,200 6,000 rpm.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through the Hydra-Matic 6L80 6-speed automatic transmission with manual tap-shift capability and a 3.23 limited-slip rear differential. The STS-V also received a specially tuned performance suspension, ZF speed-sensitive steering, StabiliTrak and all-speed traction control.
The STS-V was much more than an STS with a larger engine. Cadillac developed it as a legitimate high-performance luxury sedan, giving it unique V-Series styling, an aggressive mesh grille, performance chassis tuning and staggered 18-inch front and 19-inch rear aluminum wheels.
Inside you ll find an upscale Ebony leather and suede interior loaded with luxury equipment. Factory STS-V features included heated power front seats, heated rear seating, heated steering wheel, power tilt/telescoping steering column, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear climate controls, keyless ignition, power sunroof, rear parking sensors and memory seating.
Entertainment was equally impressive for 2006, with a factory Bose 5.1 Studio Surround Sound system featuring 15 speakers, DVD-based navigation, in-dash 6-disc DVD changer and XM Satellite Radio.
